Our Vision
Bowe Gardens Baptist Church is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as set forth in Matthew 28: 18-20, Then Jesus came to them and said “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, even to the very end of the age.”
Our History
Bowe Gardens Baptist Church began as a mission of the First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie. The first meeting was held in the newly constructed building on Sarno Road on April 17, 1960 with a Sunday School attendance of 105. Rev. John Wells was called as interim pastor and served in that capacity until November of that year.
Rev. Clayton Barker was called as pastor in November 1960. During his ministry the Chapel was organized into the Bowe Gardens Baptist Church on March 12, 1961. There were 135 charter members. The educational building was nearly completed during his ministry which concluded in December 1963.
